Bio

Michael Klodzinski began his musical experiences at the age of 4 as a piano student in Memphis, TN. He continued his study of piano throughout his time at Briarcrest elementary and middle school, eventually picking up the tenor saxophone by influence of his grandfather at the age of 13. Furthering his musical knowledge, he began to study both the guitar as well as percussion and music theory at the age of 15. Throughout high school, he continued to study saxophone, guitar, and percussion, playing snare in the marching band as well as tenor saxophone in the concert and jazz bands. Following his graduation from Briarcrest Highschool in 2005, he attended The University of Memphis studying both Computer Science and Music. From 2005 - 2008, Michael was a member of the Mighty Sound of the South marching band and was section leader as well as center tenor for the quad line from 2006 - 2008. Michael has also been involved with the Memphis Grizzlies drumline playing tenors from 2006 - 2010. Some influential teachers throughout his musical career include Samuel Sidhom, Tim Simpson, Wes Walker, Adam Clay, Nicholas Holland, Allen Rippe, Mike McCray, and Joe Klodzinski.
Michael is currently offering private percussion lessons and has taught at many local high schools in the Memphis area including Houston, Briarcrest, Bolton, Cordova, and FACS to name a few. He has had experience writing and arranging percussion music for drumlines as well as many other instrumentations including symphonic arrangements, video game music, different forms of alternative and metal music among many other genres. He is also very involved with recording and transcription technology as a means of sharing his music and plans to further develop this ability to better help others share what they have created as well. Michael has a great passion for music and for passing on this love of music to his peers as well as his students.
Michael graduated from The University of Memphis in the Fall of 2009 with a B.S. in Computer Science and will remain in Memphis, TN until called to do otherwise.
